How it works
One number for tree work across Yavapai County
Yavapai Tree Service is a local dispatch and referral line. You call one number, describe the tree, and we match the job with an independent tree company that works your part of the county.
The company that comes out does the work and bills you directly. We don't pretend to be the crew, and we don't hide that we're a referral service. What we do is make the first call easy, ask the questions that save a wasted trip, and send companies that hold an Arizona ROC license and carry insurance.
Why a dispatch line for tree work?
Yavapai County is big, and tree work varies a lot across it. A crew that spends its days thinning ponderosa in Groom Creek is set up differently from one that prunes big cottonwoods along the Verde River in Cottonwood. Steep lots in the Granite Dells call for different gear than open acreage in Chino Valley.
A single number for the whole county means you don't have to work out which company covers your road or handles your kind of tree. You tell us, and the job goes to someone set up for it.
How to check any tree company yourself
Whether a crew comes through us or knocks on your door after a storm, a few checks protect you:
- Look up the license. Ask for the ROC number and check it on the Arizona Registrar of Contractors website. Larger tree jobs generally require a licensed contractor.
- Ask for insurance. A certificate of liability insurance, and workers' compensation if the company has employees, so an injury on your property isn't your problem.
- Get it in writing. The price, what's included, whether the stump is ground, and what happens to the wood and brush.
- Be wary of storm chasers. Crews that show up after a monsoon asking for cash up front, with no local address, are the ones that leave jobs half done.
- Watch for topping. A company that offers to “top” your trees is telling you something about its training. Proper pruning never tops.
What this line won't do
We won't quote a price over the phone for a tree nobody has seen, and we won't promise an arrival time we can't keep. We also won't tell you a tree needs to come out when a trim will do. Plenty of calls end with advice rather than a job, and that's fine.
The fine print
Plainly stated
Yavapai Tree Service is a local dispatch and referral service. Tree work is performed by licensed, insured independent tree care companies serving Yavapai County.
